Klip.ae is an independent online publication about banking in the United Arab Emirates. We publish plain-English profiles and reviews of the banks licensed to operate here, so that residents, expatriates and business owners can work out which bank actually fits their situation before they walk into a branch or start an application.
The site has been publishing since 2026 and currently covers 34 banks, including national banks, foreign branch banks, Islamic banks and the UAE’s digital-only banks.
Why this site exists
The UAE has one of the most crowded banking markets in the Gulf. There are 62 licensed banks on the Central Bank of the UAE register, and the practical differences between them are buried in fee schedules, eligibility rules and product pages that are not written for ordinary readers.
Most of what is written about UAE banks online is either marketing produced by the banks themselves or thin listings that tell you nothing useful. Klip.ae exists to close that gap: to say clearly who each bank is actually for, what it costs, what it does well and where it falls short.
Who writes Klip.ae
Articles on Klip.ae are published by the Klip Editorial Team. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names because our reviews are a compiled and checked product rather than personal opinion pieces.
If you have a question about a specific article, who wrote it or how a conclusion was reached, write to us at contact@klip.ae and we will answer.
How we research a bank
Every bank profile is built from primary sources rather than from other people’s articles. In practice that means:
- The bank’s own website, product pages and published schedule of fees
- The Central Bank of the UAE register of licensed financial institutions
- Published credit rating announcements from agencies such as Fitch, Moody’s and S&P, where the bank is rated
- The bank’s annual report and regulatory disclosures, where these are public
Our full process, including how we arrive at a star rating, is set out on our editorial policy and ratings methodology page.
What Klip.ae is not
This matters, so we will be direct about it.
- Klip.ae is not a bank and not a financial institution of any kind.
- We are not licensed or regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE, the Securities and Commodities Authority, the DFSA or any other regulator.
- We are not affiliated with, owned by or endorsed by any of the banks we write about.
- We do not give financial advice. Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation.
- We cannot open accounts, process applications or intervene in a dispute with your bank. If you have a complaint about a bank, raise it with the bank and then with the Central Bank of the UAE’s consumer protection channel.
Our full disclaimer sets out the limits of what you should rely on this site for.
Editorial independence and funding
Klip.ae is free to read. We do not accept payment from any bank in exchange for coverage, for inclusion in a list, or for a particular rating or conclusion. No bank reviews our articles before publication or has any right of approval over what we write.
Where an article ever contains a commercial or affiliate link, it will be labeled clearly within that article.
Corrections
Banking terms change often. Fees get revised, products get withdrawn, and branch networks change. If you find something on this site that is out of date or wrong, tell us at contact@klip.ae and we will check it against the bank’s current published information and correct it.
We treat correction requests from the banks themselves the same way we treat them from readers: we verify, then we fix.
